Sebastian Vettel Sort of Apologises to Mark Webber

Hey Guys

I’m almost upset. Why? I’ve upset my teammate Mark Webber.

Seems I accidentally overtook him in the Malaysian Grand Prix despite the team telling me not to.

Awkward. Really awkward.

It meant I won and he came second.

I told the media it was a mistake but between us, how often have you ever accidentally overtaken someone while driving?

Mark is really mad at me. I feel awful but to be fair I would have thought Mark would be a lot better at handling not winning.

I mean between us, he’s not me. Mark seems to have a real knack for almost winning.

If almost winning was a sport he would be world champion. Instead, I am, because people really seem to prefer winning.

Mark’s a nice guy and all but I’m 25 and have won 27 races and Mark’s 36 and has won 9.

That seems to suggest I’m a slightly better driver than Mark.

Do you think I got to be a slightly better driver than Mark by worrying about things like upsetting people?

Last time I checked Formula 1 was the world’s elite motor racing competition. I didn’t realise we all needed to take turns winning like children.

I’m still really sorry, though. Truly.

I guess I’m most sorry about being far, far better than Mark at driving a car at ridiculously fast speeds around a race track.

Do you think people will look back at the end of my career and mention this incident?

I can’t see people saying, ‘Racing legend Sebastian Vettel’s stellar career was always overshadowed by an incident in Malaysia where he upset Mark Webber.’

That just won’t happen. I mean if it did, the first thing people would say is, ‘Who’s Mark Webber?’

I’m still really sorry, though. Yet winning and being recognised as the best driver going around gives me some small comfort.

So Mark, if you’re reading this, I want you to know that I am really sorry that you’re upset about what I’ve done. Really.

Love

Seb
