This morning, I appeared on a variety of radio and breakfast shows to discuss my personal life.
Why the sudden media blitz?
Because I’m a deeply private man and would like the media to stop focusing on my love life.
I was also keen to let people know that, yes ladies, I am single.
Just like Australia, Shane Warne is ‘open for business.’
Life under the media and public spotlight can be harsh. It weathers the skin like a bad chemical treatment.
Can you imagine, what it’s like to have every weird and slightly disturbing photo that you post on social media, be seen and shared by everyone? These things are meant to be kept private.
My recent relationship with International model and actor Liz Hurley is another example of how, despite all our attempts to avoid the spotlight, the public spied on everything we tweeted incessantly to each other.
Now I’m being accused of romancing the underwear millionaire mogul Michelle Mone. I probably haven’t even done that!
All I’m asking, is for people to instinctively know when I want their attention, which is often, and to know when to give me the privacy I need. How hard is that?
I’ve got a lot of goodwill in the bank Australia. 708 Test wickets will get you that.
We all know I’m going to slowly spend that goodwill in the upcoming years.
All I ask is that I can do so in private, except from all those times I’m desperate, in a childlike way, for your attention.
Talk soon
