This morning, as per normal protocol in this case, it was leaked to the media that we are investigating the Essendon supplements program for season 2012.

To be clear, we are only really investigating whether we should be investigating. There is no point rushing into this.

Basically, we are keen to see ASADA’s report first.

It’s a bit like when you’ve got an assignment due and the night before a mate rings and says ‘hey, I haven’t started this assignment, can I read yours?’ and then plagiarises most of it.

We are that mate.

That said, wouldn’t you have hung back a bit on this one? It’s such a mess. No one who’s gotten involved has come out looking good.

To say we’re not keen to get involved would be the biggest understatement in the history of all time.

We did a staff survey and everyone said they’d rather have to go to a GWS v St Kilda game, in Western Sydney, every single day for the rest of their lives, than take this on.

Anyway, we’ve probably said too much.

We will not be making any further comment while our investigation, into potentially investigating, is complete.
