A Very Rough Transcript of the AFL 360 Andrew Demetriou Interview
Gerard: Well tonight we have the Chief Executive Officer of the AFL Andrew Demetriou with us in what has been a season of high drama. Andrew welcome to AFL360.
Andrew: Thank you Gerard.
Robbo: Andrew you’ve got a tan, you’ve been away haven’t you?
Andrew: You don’t know this yet Robbo but this is the only question I will actually answer tonight. Yes I’ve been away with my kids… work/life balance etc etc. I didn’t say it would be a good answer but I did actually answer it.
Robbo: You heard Gerard’s claims at the top of the show, that Essendon would not be charged, is that true?
Andrew: Robbo I’m not going to answer that, as it would be inappropriate while there are investigations and stuff going on. Important stuff. Mucho Importanto.
Robbo: But is there confusion about AOD-9604 between ASADA and WADA? Am I remembering the letters right Gerard?
Andrew: Again, I’m not going to answer that. ASADA have an investigation underway and it would be inappropriate! Inappropriate for me to say anything about anything.
Robbo: Argh! This is so frustrating! It’s like you’re always 37 steps ahead of me! Wait, now I’ve dropped my pen! I’m stumped.
Gerard: Andrew, Stephen Milne played on the weekend do you think it trivialised sexual assault?
Andrew: Gerard that is such a complex issue and a great question. I think I’d prefer not to take any more questions from a journalist. Robbo?
Robbo: Ok. So I’m lying in bed…
Andrew: There’s a horrible thought!
Robbo: Well it would be if you were next to me! Ha Ha Ha!
Andrew: Ha Ha Ha!
Robbo: Two guys in bed together! Ha! To think! Anyway I’m listening to SEN and you ring in and just take a cricket bat to an article I wrote on AFL player ambassadors.
Andrew: Robbo are you just asking questions that involve you and me now?
Robbo: Do you like me Andrew? It’s important you do.
Andrew: Sure Robbo, Sure. Good interview guys. Gerard, why are you crying?
