Point/Counterpoint: Should Carlton cull their list?

In this edition of Point/Counterpoint, two football experts go head-to-head on the issue of whether Carlton needs to significantly turn over their playing list at the end of the season.

In the affirmative, we have Carlton's Senior Coach, Mick Malthouse.

For the negative, we have a legendary AFL coach and current Blues Head Coach, Mick Malthouse.

Carlton’s list needs a massive shakeup – Mick Malthouse

As someone who has been forced to watch every Carlton game this year, let me tell you, they are truly awful.

Last week, they lost to the Giants and it was obvious there were too many passengers.

And what do you do when you have so many passengers that the bus can’t move?

You throw those passengers under the bus.

Especially, if you’re stuck in Western Sydney, you want to get that bus moving before the next drive by.

Carlton has all the right pieces in place except for the players. Their coach is a temperamental but loveable genius who has the game plan to win it all.

It’s time to significantly cull this list and get the coach the players he deserves.

Carlton’s Premiership window is as open as a 7-11- Mick Malthouse

Hear that sound?

There it is again. It’s getting louder.

Do you know what it is?

It’s the sound of Carlton’s Premiership clock about to strike midnight.

What a terrific list we have at Carlton. There’s Daisy Thomas, Marc Murphy, Bryce Gibbs and some other players.

Don’t let the lack of winning fool you; the process we have in place is straight out amazing.

Even if I were offered Patrick Dangerfield and Nathan Fyfe for free, I would say no. That’s how much faith I have in these boys.

When you look at our list, you see future stars like Patrick Cripps and, let’s see, have I mentioned Patrick Cripps yet?

So get on board the Blues Express. Next stop, our 23rd Premiership!
