Paul Roos rallies the faithful
So Round One did not go our way but we must all maintain the faith.
I don’t expect you to have faith in all the players, you've probably seen them play more than me.
What I want is for you all to have faith in, is my hair. My beautiful, think, full hair.
Do you think a man my age can keep a head of hair like this, without being able to deal with stressful situations?
Even assuming I dye it (and I'm not conceding that), you're still pretty impressed right? It's the sort of hair that can lift up a club.
You may not know this but I fixed the Swans. I don’t mention it much but I did.
So, I've got this.
The good news is we learnt a lot on Saturday night and I've already started fixing the problems.
At our recovery session, I gathered all the players into a special healing circle and whispered in each of their ears ‘You are loved, you are appreciated.’
I then spent several hours drilling the players on how to ‘catch’ the football without spilling it several times. Baby steps.
But while I can work directly with our players, I can’t gather every supporter in my embrace and tell you individually, that everything is going to be OK.
I want to tell you that the pain in your heart is actually a burning desire to win.
That the light at the end of the tunnel is not a train, it's the light reflecting off my smile.
In fact, if thirty of our forwards weren't out injured, we may have had a shot on Saturday night.
So keep the faith. Remember, Cameron Schwab and Chris Connolly are gone and I don’t take advice from Garry Lyon on any topic, especially football.
We now have some people at the club who have actually participated in Premierships.
So buy a membership, put that little blues and red sticker on your Range Rover Sport and name your next kid Roosy.
Regards
Paul Roos
