AFL
GWS Giants write an open letter to its fans
Dear Fautave and Janice
I wanted to write you both an open letter for three reasons.
Firstly, I haven't written one yet and it seems the thing AFL Presidents and CEOs do.
Secondly, to apologise for our team's effort on Saturday. It was frankly, unacceptable.
Our effort was not worthy of those free memberships we gave you.
Thirdly, for making Richmond look good.
It seems spelling GIANTS all in caps is not intimidating our opponents at all.
I want to also apologise for the prisoners on day release we bused in to fill seats.
While they mainly behaved, I understand it was distracting having them beg to be returned to prison from early in the first quarter.
I want to assure you we are taking steps to improve. Tom Scully's dad is working really hard to ensure we can retain Tom and I'm talking to the AFL about new rules making it illegal for teams to beat us.
So thank you for being loyal members and if you have any other friends or family who would like free memberships or even life memberships, just call me on the mobile or drop around for dinner one night.
Regards
