Collingwood announces its Pre-Game Dance Troupe

Collingwood Football Club would like to announce that this year, a professional dance troupe of six males and six females will be enhancing the pre-game experience.

“These are not the type of dancers most Collingwood fans would be used to seeing,” said President Eddie McGuire.

“They will dance together in some form of choreographed movement I’m told, fully clothed.”

The Collingwood Football Club would like to ask parents to ensure their children don’t throw beer bottles at the dancers.

“We're not exactly sure these dancers will see out the year,” said CEO Gary Pert.

“Even when announcing this we felt it had train wreck written all over it. I can’t remember why we’re actually doing this. I think Eddie was keen after being in the US last year.”

Magpies coach Nathan Buckley has praised the concept however.

“Pretty much the whole dance troupe is fitter than our senior team and several of them have better hand-eye coordination,’ he said.

“I’ll be looking to rotate several players through the dance troupe and it gives us another place to rest midfielders during games which is handy considering the interchange cap.’

The name of the dance troupe has not being decided however it will be something suitably cringe worthy.
