Dear Footy Fans

We want you all to know that we hear you loud and clear on wanting AFL shown in glorious High Definition.

It’s important that you also know that we just don’t care.

Let’s not mince words, we’ve never really cared that much about you.

We’ve played around with the times we show the footy, saturated it with cross promotions and even hired Brian Taylor!

You idiots kept watching it anyway.

Not for a second do we believe you’ll stop watching now, just because it looks like it was filmed in North Korea.

We are in the business of making money, not making the general public happy.

So go ahead and complain. Who are you going to complain to? The AFL?

They’ve got a billion reasons to do nothing.

Anyway, the money we are saving is being invested in other areas of footy production.

Would you want to lose, say, the Megawall or Nick Maxwell doing special comments, just to have AFL streamed in a clarity so beautiful it would make you weep?

We didn't think so.
