Matthew Lloyd’s Predictions for the AFL Season
Matthew Lloyd brings insights to the game of AFL that no one else can get near.
Quite simply, it’s a gift. Matthew Lloyd is a modern day Seer.
We all know he’s prediction that Brisbane will be in a ‘world of pain’ this season.
You may also know he predicted Essendon to finish top four but that they won’t win the Premiership.
What you probably don’t know, is the he’s made a range of predictions for the upcoming season that will startle you and are certain to come true.
Here they are:
‘Buddy Franklin will play for Sydney this season.’
‘By round 14, robots will replace players before turning on humans and destroying society as we know it.’
‘Jake King’s relationship with bikies will be in the paper all the time, even though nothing exciting is happening. Get ready for a lot of pictures of him and Toby Mitchell having coffee.’
‘James Hird will enjoy his overseas study so much, that Paul Little will insist he stays over there indefinitely.’
‘Mark Thompson will adapt quickly to being a senior coach.’
‘Mark Robinson will take to loitering outside Andrew Demetriou’s home, hoping their friendship is real.’
‘The interchange cap will lead to the death of thousands.’
‘Andrew Demetriou will cling to power in scenes eerily similar to those in the Ukraine recently.’
‘Eddie McGuire will be annoyed about all manner of things, while also pretending he’s been reasonable.’
‘ASADA will deliver two more versions of it’s interim report this season. There will never be a final report.’
‘Mick Malthouse will finally watch Star Wars and get the T-Shirt reference he had banned.’
‘The recent rain in Geelong that flooded Simonds Stadium is just precursor of flooding which will submerge Geelong underwater permanently. Many will say this is a significant improvement.’
‘Jokes will be made on Twitter about Collingwood supporters being criminals, inbred, lacking teeth and having tattoos. They will still be funny.’
‘Brisbane will play the song ‘Jump Around’ by House of Pain, while in their World of Pain.’
‘Joel Selwood will learn to jump at just the right moment to draw the most tripping free kicks this season. His brother will be second.’
‘There will be problems with the surface at Etihad Stadium.’
‘St Kilda will go through the season controversy free. Eight in-house lawyers will be let go as a result.’
‘Paul Roos will guide Melbourne to one of its most successful season ever with four wins.’
'Brian Taylor will annoy footy fans on a weekly basis in new and innovative ways.’
